Perivolou Beach 2013

This was one of the early attempts to get to grips with acrylic paint. Working on plywood for convenience, I was learning to use brushes in an attempt to convey the landscape as a series of discrete blocks. In many ways it was a composite of the beach at different times of the day and even different seasons. On one visit in the early midsummer morning, the beach appeared quite pink and I was keen to work that in.
